The process of installing sliding folding doors is a simple one with minimal disruption to your home.
Our orangery was originally installed with lovely windows but no doors, so we fitted our Birmingham showroom orangery with bi-folding doors using our very own highly skilled installers.
The install created minimal disturbance and required only a small space to build the frame for the bi-folding doors – with the majority of the manufacture occurring off-site, the frame was measured, trimmed to the correct size and constructed in front of the doorway.
The first step requires careful measurements of the doorway.
As you can see the only space needed is to lay the frame out whilst it is being constructed.
The frame is constructed from three sides and the track is positioned in the threshold – this secures the doors at the bottom and supports the doors in the frame. It is possible to have a flush track or indeed, no track at all on the bottom on some internal folding sliding door systems.
On an external door the lower track provides a threshold and ensures a draught free door.
The frame is positioned and then secured into place using top performance fittings.
The first door is attached and the hinge adjusted to ensure the door hangs perfectly.
The second door is nearly ready to be attached, first the hinges need to be added to the first door.
The finished result – we only opted for one set of folding doors, this ensured that the showroom did not appear too cluttered whilst still offering a demonstration of beautiful sliding, folding timber doors from the perfect finish of the timber to the smooth operation of the sliding mechanism.
